The 'Rivals' EP is a collaborative effort from Derain, ELM & Vridian, three producers based in New Delhi, India. As their discographies boast a more dance floor friendly tone, this EP is an exploration into a more atmospheric realm. The title effort 'Rivals' was a result of an Ableton Session traveling to three different homes and was completed in a step by step process. It's dubby pads and warm textures were provided by Derain, the grooves and the acid infused lead by Vridian and the subtle melodics by ELM. The B-side of this EP, 'Little Corners Of Nowhere' is an introspective piece by Derain & Vridian, written at a time where they both were losing inspiration from their usual sources. This one, much like the A-side, is dubby in nature but a lot more gentle and spacious. The transition is from a mood of mystery into a melodic section that boasts a small glimmer of hope.
Derain is the project of Ankit Chugh, ELM is the new moniker of Siddhant Jain and Vridian is the brainchild of music producer Vir RC. All three are based in New Delhi, India.
